Bi-objective optimisation of remanufacturing decisions with component commonality under different reworking scenarios

چکیده
Decision-making for remanufacturing is more complicated than that of traditional manufacturing because used or new components can be selected to remanufacture products. It becomes difficult determine the various options and their subsequent effect on at same time. In fact, all decisions made in one activity will have a direct impact taken activities this affect profitability. Therefore, decision-making model proposed support businesses each by using mixed-integer linear programming maximise profit minimise operational remains unknown whether component commonality always benefits remanufacturing. research contributes literature quantifying controlling objectives under different reworking scenarios characterised percentage reworked components, time, cost. When costs are higher, fluctuation increases. The remanufacturer control these situations reducing costs, selecting specific patterns generate high profits choosing appropriate depending scenarios.

Remanufacturing and the Component Commonality Decision
Firms often determine whether or not to make components common across products by focusing on the manufacturing and sales of new products only. However, component commonality decisions that ignore remanufacturing can adversely affect the profitability of the firm. In this paper, we analyze how remanufacturing could reverse the OEM’s commonality decision that is based on the manufacturing and sa...
متن کاملComponent commonality under no-holdback allocation rules
We study the value of component commonality in assemble-to-order systems under no-holdback allocation rules. We prove that the total product backorder and on-hand component inventory decrease with probability one as the degree of commonality increases; however, the average cost may not decrease unless a certain cost symmetric condition is imposed. © 2014 Elsevier B.V. متن کاملThe Role of Component Commonality in Product Assortment Decisions
We consider a firm that produces multiple variants of a product. Products are assembled using a combination of common and dedicated components. We characterize the optimal assortment and derive the optimal inventory levels for the common and dedicated components under various bill-ofmaterial configurations. We investigate the effect of commonality on product variety and compare its benefits und...
متن کاملMulti-objective optimisation of facility location decisions within integrated forward/reverse logistics under uncertainty
In this paper, a stochastic mixed integer linear programming (SMILP) model is proposed to optimize the location and size of facilities and service centres in integrated forward and reverse streams under uncertainty. The objective of the model is to minimize establishment, transportation and inventory management costs and simultaneously maximize customer satisfaction with sustainable perspective...
متن کاملEvolutionary bi-objective optimisation in the elevator car routing problem
The paper introduces a genetic algorithms based elevator group control system utilising new approaches to multiobjective optimisation in a dynamically changing process control environment. The problem of controlling a group of elevators as well as the basic principles of the existing single-objective genetic elevator group control method are described. The foundations of the developed multi-obj...
